Big Ticket Autographs

July 22, 2007 Pawsox vs. Louisville Bats

So I wake up Sunday and I get a call from my friend Andrew and he asks me and my brother if we want to go to a Pawsox game with him, I say sure and little did I know that going will open me up to the world of graphing. I'm pretty knowledgable when it comes to baseball but when it comes to getting autos well me friend filled me in and really helped me out and got me into it. So we get to McCoy stadium a few minutes before the game and coming there unprepared I buy a team set and my friend picked me and brother up a baseball. This was Buchholz's 2nd start in AAA and it was impressive fanning 10 in 5 innings though he got no run support and the Pawsox lost. So we left the game after the 8th and went to the back parking lot. There was a line of kids for running the bases and there were was only me, my brother, Andrew (my friend) and another collecter waiting for autos. George Kottaras came out and I got him on a team set in blue sharpie, Hansen came out next but didn't but he has a sick ride. Ellsbury came out and signed for us, then I nunch of little kids ran over who didn't even know who he was and were asking him for autos one begged him to sign a Varitek jersey, he seemed kinda pissed off signed a few for the kids and took off (he also has a nice ride dark green Escalade). Then the guy I was hoping for C-Buc came out and there was a security gaurd I got around him and he signed for me, my bro, friend, and the other guy. He was nice as he told the security guard it was ok and I talked to him about the game for a minute. It was my first graphing experience and a nice one too.

Patriots Training Camp (1st Day of TC)

Ok so wake up at 6:30 and get ready for a drive to Gillete Stadium, it would be my first time attending training camp so I wanted to see how it would be and get there early for decent seats (started at 8. I came with some Pats cards but I really was unprepared. It was 92 degrees so it was murder but  I headed over to the Pro Shop as I heard some guys would sing there. Little did I know Randy Moss would sign on field but thats ok. So they only allow like 30 or 40 people in near the Pro Shop and me and my bro were lucky to get in. So off the cart comes Ben Watson, Kyle Brady, Larry Izzo and what everyone had thought was Laurence Marouney (it was really Eric Alexander) my bro thought it was Mauroney and had him sign a football and hat, and looking at the sig I could tell it wasn' t him. I went after Watson and he was really cool and signed for everyone, I gave him a press pass and he smiled when he signed it and asked me if I was a Bulldogs fan, I said no I'm a Hokie fan  and he said "Got you last year in that Bowl game" and laughed he was cool. I went in the Pro Shop to get some Watson 8X10s but they didn't let me back out, I was pissed as the security gaurd saw me walk in from the signing area. Anyways it was a good expereince for next time.

Patriots Training Camp (Last Day of TC)

So it was the last day of TC open to the public so we headed down there as it was scheduled for 10am, we took my friend Andrew as he is a huge Pats fan and a grapher and  it was a scprcher again. Funny story, I'm a Jets fan so I was in hostile territory and all but I was behaving myself. I hate Tom Brady and anyone that knows me knows that, so they were running some goaline plays and Brady dropsback and falls and everyone was like "Ohhhhh" and were clapping when he got up. I was laughing my ass off and yelled "Look at him, what an idiot!" A lot of people turn and look at me as I was sitting in the front row close to the field. Next play before the snap I yell "watch out Brady there is grass on the ground" and more people look some people laughed. I thought I was going to get killed as some people were really ticked off, like really offended them or something. Practice ended early probably because of the heat and the whole LB squad signed cept for Seau. Bruschi was getting mauled and he signed a lot but only for people like right in his face I came close 2 getting him twice. Though as I was following Bruschi Colvin sinded up a storm and missed him. Vrabel signed for a few and got him luckily, and Larry Izzo stayed and signed for everyone there he was really cool and all. I wasn't well prepared as I was expecting it to be WR day. But it was alright.

August 6th, 2007 Pawsox vs. Rochester Red Wings

I was looking forward to this as I felt I came well prepared and was looking forward to getting Kevin Slowey of the Redwings and Ellsbury and Buccholz though it was a tough night. I went with my bro and my friend Andrew and it was Sox Legends night and Johnny Pesky and Frank Malzone were scheduled to sign. We got there early and Andrew and I had my brother wait in line he was the 3rd on there but he waited there for a long ass time. We went over to the dugout and hung our cards, Edgar Martinez signed for me and Craig Hansen signed a bunch of cards for this kid, he was the only one he signed for. The pitching matchup was Slowey vs Buchholz and I  would have loved to watch it but  I decided to get in line for the legends signing. We couldn't get in line with my bro as now there was a big line and people would have complained. Pesky and Malzone were supposed to sign for 7-8 but were 1/2 hour late and they didnt extend the signing. My bro ended up wait for more than 2 hours. He got them on the poster they were giving away and came back in line wit Andrew and I. We were lucky enough to be the last bunch of people they let through to get signed. And I got them on the poster as well, my bro got Pesky on an OLB in blue pen. So when he got to our seats it was the 7th inning  but both were pitching still and it was 1-0 Rochester. So we missed a good pitching duel. Buc was pulled and the pen for the Sox was shelled and they got hammered in the end. We left in the bottom of the 9th to the parking lot. Security was tighter and there were a bunch of people waiting for autos so we were kicked out of the gate and to the outside and they cloed the gate. Some left and some stayed. Craig Hansen came out 1st and just ignored everyone and took off and his beamer he could have cared less if he ran someone over. For some reason I like Hansen's attitude I know he is an asswhole but I like him. Buc came out next and got in hiscar but was nice enough to sign for a few people I got him and was content but I missed my shot at Slowey and I heard he signed a lot so I was a bit upset. I wanted Ells and Lowrie but it was getting too late.

August 21, 2007 Pawsox vs. Cuse Sky Chiefs

It was team poster night and the players were signign for an hour before the game, I had to go to this. My bro and I got there 1/2 hour early, got our tickets and waited for the gate to open. I brought my team set in hopes of getting it done, though I found out it would be 1 per. Great news is Buccholz came back a few hours before the signing from Boston after his start against the Angels and not many knew he was there, I did! I got one of their posters, and it was ok but I wouldn't use it my bro couldn't find his team set and had no choice but we did buy a few balls before the game. So the signing was good, it was set up in tables with 2 players to a table and then Joe McEwing at the end with Paws and Ms. Paws, poor SOB. They didn't say who was where so I had to go and find out for myself. I just went to the 1st table and no was was really waiting there and got Bobby Scales and Mike Burns got them both and moved along. Next was some pen guys, Breslow, Travis Hughes and Javy Lopez got them and moved along. Now my bro and I split up after that as he had got a mini helmet for Ells and the line for him was really long and he knew he had to go there now if he was goign to make it. I moved along and next were my 2 Pawsox favorites, Edgar Martinez and Craig Hansen! Edgar was really cool and him and Hansen were joking a lot. Now Hansen  was on the DL and I kid after he got his poster signed said "I hope you get better Craig" and he goes"Yea me too" like in a sarcastic tone and mumbled something. Person in front of me asked Edgar where he was from and said "He is Edgar Martinez where do you think he is from Yougislovia!" The person seemed upset and then him and Edgar laughed. I was up next and had asked Craig if he would SS my ball and he goes sure kid. I complemented him on his car and he goes" Thanks man, you have a good day kid" And I think that was the nicest I ever have seen or heard him. Next was Buc and his line wasn't hat long as I mentioned not many knew he was there, he couldn't sign SS though and I got him side panel, line was short so I want back through again got him on another ball. Finished up with Brandon Moss and Devern Hansack, Moss was really cool and just having fun. I a days ago Hansack threw 7 shutout innings so I told him you good job and stuff and he smiled and said thanks and then gave me a microscopicle sig. My bro did end up getting Ells but couldn't get anyone else, Lowrie was signing with him and I heard he was really cool but Ells was kind of a dick.  I didn't want to postgame as I got what I wanted and Cuse didn't have anyone I really wanted as McGowian was up.

Bobby Scales 1/1-Team set, really cool and friendly
Mike Burns 1/1- Team set
Craig Breslow 1/1- Team Set
Travis Hughes 1/1-Team set
Javier Lopez 1/1- Team set
Edgar Martinez 1/1- Team set, really cool
Craig Hansen 1/1- SS ROLB, he was a dick to the people in front of me but was cool to me, thanks Craig, you're great!
Clay Buchholz 2/2- 2 Side panels, 1 ROLB, 1 Wilson ball (ran out of ROLB at Olympia sports)
Lincoln Holdzkom 2/2- He was wit Buc and I had nothing for him I just gave him the poster and dumped the poster later, I had another Wilson ball asked him for a SS said nothing gave me a scriblle on the side panel and didn't use my pen used a thick black sharpie, I really don't like this guy. Oh I used that ball in the backyard and ended up tossing over a fence.
Brandon Moss 1/1- 07 IL Top Prospect Card, He was cool as well
Devern Hansack 1/1- Team set , microscopic sig

Sept 1, 07 Pawsox vs. Yankees

Okay great Joba is called up then Kennedy yanked up before the game, and Ells and Buc were called up that morning, great! So no one worth getting on Scranton, Sardinha maybe but my target was Jed Lowrie. I like his potential and he has been playing well in Pawtucket, another shit year for 9 million dollar Mex in Boston and Lowrie could be up there. It was the 2nd game of a day night double header and went to the night capper with my bro Patrick and my friend Andrew. Unforunately and fortunately this was the same night as Buchholz's no hitter. The game sucked, and we ventured into the parking lot hoping for Lowrie and maybe Hansen. I missed Hansen as I was over near the Scranton bus talking with some fellow graphers, one was from New York and was expecting Kennedy, sucks for him. Didn't bring anything for Scranton didn't have much cept for Carrizaro and Bean though. I got Spivey as he was coming in and out of the locker room. Went over and Andrew and my bor filled me in on Hansen blowing them off. No one else was waiting in the lot but us, I was following the no hitter on my cell and as I was a trainer came out and said you are going to be eaiting here awhile most of the team is watching the no-hitter. Funny how Hansen left so quickly! We waited for a little more than 2 hours but Lowrie finnaly came out through the back door. And signed he was cool about it as it was only us 3 and we talked a little about the no-hitter and headed off. It was late but I guess worth it, as  I got who I wanted.

Sept 3, 07 Pawsox vs. Yankees

Last game of the year for the Pawsox and it was my bros b-day. So what better day to graph at McCoy, I was I was better prepared though. Got there early and scouted the Scranton dugout for sellers to try and obtain some Scranton cards, no luck. Kei Igewa was warming up and  a kid was speaking Jap to him. He came over and signed for a few people but didn't sign for the kid that called him over. He kept calling him and he didn't sign it was kind of funny. I had an ROLB and I was right there in front of him and he didn't sign I was ticked. He should sign, they guy is making insane money for getting bombed in AAA. Game was pretty good back and forth with Scaranton rallying in the 8th for the win. I headed out to the parking lot in hopes of getting the rest of my team set done and with Moss, Ells, and Buc in Boston I was hoping to get Kottaras on a ball, I like his potential, if he was in the NL I think he'd be starting and being fairly productive but its tough being a catcher in the Sox system. Now we shouldn't have left the game early as everything was getting tossed, a bunch of games used stuff. Craig Hansen my boy was ejected before he could get out of 1 inning and beaned some throwing 97. Hansen was heated and looked as if he was going to pull a Delmon Young, another reason why I love Craig. Anyways he threw his jersey into the crowd I heard and I saw the jersey to as the kid who got it was going nuts, I've seen him around before don't care for him. I also had the misfortune of seeing the imfamous Bobby "Da Bear" Tieriney. I saw him at the team signing and I nearly puked, I heard about him and when I saw him at the signing he was floppiing around try to get Joe McEwing to sign an old Mets poster. This time he was cracking the pavement going for Chad Spam. It was dispicable. Anyways I stayed a few hours and every player was signing and beign real friendly, cept for Scales who is usally pretty cool. I didn't get Kottaras as he sneaked out  and Craig Hansen was chilling with Lowrie and this girl, I presumed to be his gf. Anyways it was a nice end to my IP graphing I wish I had gotten involved sooner, but I'm well prepared for next year when it comes.

Abe Alverez 2/2-Team set, from his car and my friend helped me with him
David Pauley 2/2- Team set
Jeff Bailey 2/2- Team set, seemed a bit pissed off that I asked for 2.
Travis Hughes 1/1-Team set, really nice guy
Devern Hansack 1/1- Team set (flip flopped on whether he'd sign or not)
Edgar Martinez 2/2, from his car one was for my friend who need him on a magizine came out nice, another team set

I gave all of what I got to my bro cause it was his birthday and he was the one I had kept on the lookout for Craig Hansen and Lowrie on the other side of the parking lot. I only kept one of the doubles but the rest were for him.

Christmas at McCoy December 8th, 2007

Didn't really have anything to do today so I decide to head down to McCoy stadium for the kids Christmas party which was well organized and had stuff for the kids to do batting cages and stuff, free food, and a free ticket to a game next year and the coaching staff were signing autos. I mainly went to get Ron Johnson for my team set got him a few times on some stuff as well as Russ Morman and Rich Sauver. Now thhe cool part, I went to the pro shop to look around and they had GU bats from last season a lot of nobodies and guys from pervious years and then i saw a broken bat GU from George Kottaras when he was in Boston and all the bats were $10! So yea it was sick my friend picked a Larry Biggbie and my bro got a GU Lousiville Slugger with no name on it, really nice one two. Here is what I ended up getting

Game Used George Kottaras broken bat-$10!

Ron Johnson 4/4-Team set card, 4x6 postcard of McCoy, signed pamphlet of McCoy stadium, and a CIC

Russ Morman 4/4- 2 CICs, one had the Kane County cougars logo on it and he laughed and asked how I found it....google my friend, google, Portland Seadogs team program page, phamplet

Rich Sauver 3/3- Really nice guy, 1 CIC, 4x6 postcard and phamplet

Paws and Ms. Paws (mascots) 1/1 1/1- As sad as it is I need them for the set and I got them.

10 Pocket Schedules unsigned 7 from this year with Clay Buchholz on it 3 from last year.

Pawsox Hot Stove

First IP event of '08 for me and I came well prepared the players that attended were Jed Lowrie, Justin Masterson, Michael Bowden, Dusty Brown and Jon Van Every. I really was looking for some quality over quantity and as it turn out quantity would be hard to come away with. There were 2 tables in 2 different rooms, in one room was Bowden, Lowrie and Brown and there was a Q&A session, I asked a question for the guys and they all were pretty artticulate. They annouced they'd be doing one per and of course I'd try to do more. I first got those 3 and Bowden did my ball SS as asked but refused to do my 2 cards. Lowrie did my mini helmet nicely, and Dusty did my ice cream mini. Then went over to Every and Masterson I had 8 cards of Every and have 4 to my bro to help me with 50/50s Every only signed 2 cards for me then Masterson did my ball SS as asked and did 1 of my cards. Went in line again for these two and Every refused to sign my remainding 2 cards, said he did enough for me already. This piece of work was picked in the 29th round and he is going to refuse to sign for me, after shrugginh that off I had him do a 4x6 and he was stunned when I told him I had a picture of him. I'm not surprised as I doubt his parents would even waste film on him. Masterson did my 8x10 and was really cool about finishing up my cards guy was awesome and really friendly. Headed back to Bowden, Lowrie and Brown were a security guard gave me a little but of a problem because apprently he really cared about this 1 per deal and recognized me from before. Got Bowden on an 8x10, Jed on a GU jersey (sadly not for me, it was a 60/30 for someone else I got a mini and ROMLB and money in return) and Dusty did my 2 8x10s which was good because he took off soon after. Line was short so went through again while Bowden still didn't finish me up which upset me Jed was really friendly and I'm glad he had no problem doing some big items for me as he did recognize me from the 1st time I was up. All in all it was good got what I wanted done and I don't have to worry about Masterson or Jed Lowrie for the season and I just have 1 card left for Bowden. Can't wait for April.

Here is what I winded up with:

Michael Bowden: 1/2, 1/1, 1/1 1 Portland Seadogs team setter, 1 SS GU ROMLB and 1 8x10
Jed Lowrie: 1/1, 1/1, 1/1: Sox mini helmet, Rawlings mini bat, and Lowell Spinners GU Jersey (50/50, not mine)
Dusty Brown: 1/1, 2/2: 1 Ice Cream mini, 2 8x10s, he signed a bunch I ordered some cards of his 2 weeks ago and never got em wish I had them on me as he would have done them no problem
Justin Masterson: 3/3, 1/1, 1/1: 3 05 BDPs, 1 SS ROMLB, 1 8x10
Jon Van Every: 2/4, 1/1: 1 07 Bowman Chrome, 07 Bowman Hertiage, 1 4x6, story above.
Ron Johnson: signed an 07 pocket sked

total autos: 18 (16 for myself)

Friday April 4th 2008 Pawtucket Pawsox vs. Indy Indians

Headed after school to McCoy got there around 3pm and missed the McCutcheon, Walker and Pearce. Some off the Indy scrubs were coming off buses 3 or 4 at a time but no one big. It was rainy all day and as expected game got called. Headed quickly back out to catch Indy onto the bus and there were 4 people wating including myself. McCutcheon came out with a plate of food in one hand and drink in another I stopped him and asked just to give it a shot, and he gave me a look, shook his head and walked onto the bus. Neil Walker stopped and signed but the whole team was shouting telling him to get on. Awful day at McCoy and not was I was expecting at all. Here are my totals:

David Pauley 4/4 cards: signed coming in

Neil Walker 1/1 8x10: The rain f'd up my shot sig came out ok though could have done more but the his teamates were giving his crap

Saturday April 5th 2008 Pawtucket Pawsox vs. Indy Indians

Well headed out to McCoy for a doubleheader got to the stadium at 11:15 to hang my stuff and I ended up enduring the cold and stayed for both games. 1st game was solid, 2nd game was a blowout and McCutcheon hit a monster hr. Headed to the parking lot at 6 and waited for the buses. Walker, Pierce and Bixler ran on without giving anyone a glance. McCutcheon came out and started heading towards the bus then he come over and started to sign I had to run over and get him and I was one of maybe 10 of the 30 or so people waiting that got him. He grabbed my ball and turn in to SP and before he grabbed my pen I asked him to SS and did nicely. Tried dipping him but he recognized me. All in all a solid day and I came away with what I wanted. Probably won't be making the trip tomorrow and it'll be awhile before I see anyone as Lehigh Valley is in next and they have nobody so I won't waste my time with them, then Pawtucket is away for a while so I will see Buffalo next in 2 weeks.

Saturday April 19th 2008 Pawtucket Pawsox vs. Buffalo Bison

Headed to McCoy for the first time in 2 weeks and meet up with a fellow Pawtucket grapher Alex who was with his kids, I arrived at 12:30 for pregame and left at 4. I was looking to get Aaron Laffey (who was the starter today) but never saw him or Jeremy Sowers so they must have taken a cab and snuck in. A McCoy miracle occurred when Craig Hansen signed for us, he was making me, my bro and Alex's son chase him in the backlot before he parked in the player's lot. Also got Hansen's new best buddy Lincoln Holdzkom coming in he actually put down a bag he was carrying to sign for me which was nice, only signed for me and then headed in. Adam Miller who is on the DL then came walking over and I guess he took a cab. Anyways didn't think he would show so was ill prepared but had an ROMLB and he signed the SS nicely. All in all a nice day at McCoy and I'm pleased the results.

Craig Hansen 1/2: See story above, still very surprised he signed.

Lincoln Holdzkom
2/2: Very nice about signing, which was surprising, still have a few left of this guy.

David Pauley
4/4: Good for a couple as always
Abe Alvarez
3/3: same as Pauley
Edgar Martinez
1/1 (50/50): routine
Chad Spann
2/2: Saw him coming in just as I was going to leave

Jordan Brown
1/1 8x10: Had no cards of him and printed out an 8x10 10 min. before I headed over, wish I had more as he was very nice and quietly signed a couple.

Adam Miller
1/1 SS ROMLB: Surprised to see him and he was very nice.

May 10th 2008 Pawtucket Pawsox vs. Norfolk Tide

Arrived at McCoy at 12:30 for one of two games the first to began at 6:00. Norfolk had a top pitching prospect in Radhames Liz and he as well as Bartolo Colon were my targets today, they were also the starting pitchers for the 1st game. Did well with the Pawtucket players coming in got nos for today were Joe Thurston who refused to sign my card because while the name on the was his the picture on it was of Bobby Scales., and Lincoln Holdzkom (got him later though). Missed Chris Smith while getting Chad Spann which I was a little upset about as I really want my Portland setters done by him. Sean Casey and Alex Cora were in for assignment Cora didn't sign but Casey did one per for all who wanted him and SS my ball without me asking, very personable. Anyways didn't see Hayden Penn come in who was the starter for the 2nd game and I was told Liz came in already by another collector, didn't believe him so I stuck around and at 4 o'clock, 2 hours before gametime a cab pulls up with Radhames Liz being the only guy inside. Liz put down his bad and signed for me, my bro and my friend who were the onlys ones waiting. He was really nice and has a nice sig but is a sharpie killer. All in all a good day and got one of my targets.

Saturday May 24th 2008 Pawtucket Pawsox vs. Rochester Redwings

Got to the stadium at noon and ended up spending a bit over 10 hours there as I did pre-game, inside and postgame. It was more of a quality over quantity kind of day. With Rochester in my my goal was Francisco Liriano SS on a ROMLB and my other goal was to get a few of my Masterson stuff signed. I didn't have a problem with either of them, but a lot of luck was a part of me getting Liriano. Pre-game Masterson was dropped off by family members and came over and signed a few for the 10 + people waiting. Did a ball and 8x10 (that I would later lose), I asked him and heard others asking for his debut date and 1st ML Win inscriptions and all but he told me as well as others that he couldn't do inscriptions, but still signed SS and was very nice. Got blown of by George Kottaras, Chris Carter, Chris Smith and Edgar Martinez pre-game (E-Mart denied me postgame too, ugh). Rochester's bus finally came and most of the team came off of it, Liriano included he just quietly headed inside as most of the team did. Got inside and hung my stuff over the Pawtucket dugout and then went over to the Redwings dugout to try Liriano. While waiting for Francisco I see Masterson pick up my binder and sign all 3 cards I had. Though a little while later I see my signed picture of Justin Masterson fall out from my binder and some guy (not a player or staff member) pick it  up and place it on the bench in the dugout, told some of the staff/security people but they didn't do anything about it. Win some lose some, but I'll have other chances with Masterson so no worries. Anyways Liriano comes out from the dugout and me and my friend are really the only ones calling for him, he blows us off. 5 min later Liriano is walking around we call for him he looks up and then continues to walk around and then heads into center field for warm-ups. As BP/warm-ups ended Liriano comes running to the dugout and at this point there are at least 10 people over the dugout calling for him. Liriano signs for one kid and then amongst the shouting points to me and has me drop my ball to him. Signed the SS beautifully and then tossed it up and headed inside. My goals were meet before the game started and was very pleased. After the game Jed Lowrie suprisingly stopped and signed as there were a good 20-25 people  outside waiting for graphs. Signed for 10 before Ricky Mederios comes over and pulls Jed away. All in all it was a decent day, little rough numbers wise but these days 20 at Pawtucket is alright, and I meet both my goals so can't complain.

Pre-game
Lee Gronkiewicz 1/1-team helmet
Charlie Zink 1/1-team helmet
Joe Thurston 2/2 (1 50/50)
Jon Switzer 2/2 (1 50/50)
Michael Tejara 1/2 (why?)
Jeff Bailey 2/2 (1 50/50)
Jose Vaquenado 1/1 (50/50)
David Pauley 6/6-was the starting pitcher but he is always willing to sign, nice guy
Justin Masterson 2/2-SS ROMLB, 8x10 (story above)

Inside
Justin Masterson 3/3
Franciso Liriano 1/1 SS ROMLB (story above)

Postgame
Jed Lowrie 1/1-nice guy and willing to sign but Ricky tagging along with him now makes it harder to get him to stop
Hunter Jones 1/1-team helmet
Gil Velazquez 1/1-team helmet

Total 24 (20 for me)

Next up: Possibly Monday for the Scranton Yankees, if not then it'll be a good 2-3 weeks before I hit Pawtucket up, which would before Buffalo and Louisville.

May 26, 2008 Pawtucket Pawsox vs. Scranton Yanks

Went down to McCoy on my way to a Memorial Day BBQ only could stay for an hour pre-game so obviously not expecting numbers. Was just hoping to get some Scranton guys and Justin Masterson. Scranton was awful, guys just came off the bus and walked right in only 2 guys stopped. Then black beamer comes rolling by and it was Clay Buchholz. Parks in the backlot and the 15-20 people waiting just dart to him. Clay comes out and walks over and signs 1 per for everyone. Totally unexpected, and I was ill prepared but I has a Sox mini helmet so threw him on that. Hopefully he will be rehab'n for a lil while in Pawtucket. Like I said only was there an hour but I came away with Buchholz so can't complain. Went back postgame to get some of the Scranton guys and they were much better signing wise than in the morning and thus did ok, Jed Lowrie who said he'd sign after the game didn't and no sign of Masterson again after the game, I think he is getting picked up over near by the side doors, instead of in front of the looker room. Anyways was an another sub par day in Pawtucket. Here are the totals:

Pre-Game
Dusty Brown 1/1-team mini helmet
Chris Carter 1/1-team mini helmet
Keith Ginter 1/1-team mini helmet
Nick Green 2/2- (both for another collector present)
George Kottaras
1/4-It is going to take all season to finish this guy
Clay Buchholz
1/1- team mini helmet

Postgame

Brett Gardner
1/1
David Pauley 1/1- team mini helmet
Eric Hull 1/1- team mini helmet
Lincoln Holdzkom 1/1-team mini helmet
Charlie Zink, Gil Velazquez, Chad Spann and Chris Carter 1/1 for all of them on Pawsox Patter (team newspaper)

Sunday June 8th Buffalo Bison @ Pawtucket Pawsox

Went for the game today and I don't know why as it was over 90 degrees out. Got their to late to graph pregame or inside so these results are just postgame. So considering it was just post game it wasn't that bad at all. Funny story actually, I over near the Buffalo bullpen and in between an inning I ask Yamid Haad to sign. He says he can't due to league regulations. So a little while after that go to the bathroom near the pen to bleed the lizard and Yamid walks in. He goes "Hey man when your done wait outside, I got to take a pis then I'll sign for you." So when Yamid comes out he checks to see if anyone was around and sigs and says that if anyone saw him signing during the game he'd get in trouble and get a fine and he goes ya man I need to get paid. Nice guy and a nice story I guess. Postgame was solid got all that I really had for Buffalo cept Brian Slocum didn't know he got sent down so my cards of him were sitting at home instead. Solid day and will be back out again this week to clean up on Pawtucket since Louisvile's only propspects got sent up recently.

Thursday June 12th 2008 Louisville Bats @ Pawtucket Pawsox

Really had nothing else better to do today so headed down to the stadium just to graph pregame. Louisville is really a dead team without Bruce and Bailey only guy I was looking to get for them was Daryl Thompson who is pitching really well this season and is only 22. I was really hoping to get Buchholz on a no hitter 8x10 and despite the small crowd Buchholz pulled into the backlot and walked right in. Nothing special today just worked on some 50/50s, was another ho-hum outing at Pawtucket.

June 19th, 2008 Columbus Clippers @ Pawtucket Redsox

Headed down to McCoy just to graph pregame. Got there early and did nicely considering it was only pregame. My goal for the day was to get Collin Balester of Columbus who is their #2 prospects and #1 pitching prospect. I  later found out he was the starter for the game so I was unsure wether he'd sign or not. Luckily he did. The team bus showed up late and most guys didn't sign coming off. Though I got what I wanted from them and finished off some stuff I had for some Pawsox guys. All in all it was a decent day, and here are my totals:

Columbus
Collin Balester 3/3: Nice, guy wish him all the best
Mike O' Connor 3/3 (1 me, 2 50/50)
Mike Bacsik 1/1 (Gave up #756 to Bonds)

Pawtucket

June 20th, 2008 Columbus Clippers @ Pawtucket Redsox

Wasn't planning on hitting up McCoy again though I didn;t have to work and decided to go just to finish up my 50/50s for the Clippers. Only grpahed for a little bit pregame so not a numbers day. Did get all my 50/50s done though. Columbus is easily the nicest team I've dealt with, wish the rest of the IL could be like them. Was an ok outing, probably won't ge back for another 2 weeks or so when Cuse comes in. Here are my totals:

Columbus
Garret Mock 2/2 (1 me, 1 50/50): Was very very nice, probably because he just found out he got called up to start for the Nats tommorow vs. Texas
Tommy Murphy 1/1
Ed Rogers 2/2: Very nice as well, got my setters done from this former "bucket" boy
Tim Foli 3/3 ( 1 me, 2 50/50)
Collin Balester 1/1 SS ROMLB: Vey nice and genuine guy, wish him all the best, pitched very well last night and with a fastball consistently thrown at 94-95 with a good breaking curveball the Nats need to take notice and bring him up soon.

June 25th, 2008 Richmond Braves vs. Pawtucket Redsox

Really just went to graph pregame to finish up some 50/50s for Pawtucket and did so for the most part. Had really nothing for Richmond as I really didn't anticipate to see them, but I got what I had done with relative ease. Buchholz was the starter tonight so I didn't expect him to sign but still gave it a shot he started to take a few steps towards me and my bro who were the only ones waiting for him, then he turned around and headed inside. I stayed for a few innings just to watch Buchholz and he looked very good, fastball and curveball were on point tonight, he touched 93-94 consistently I don't see him staying in Pawtucket for much longer. Ended up getting some decent pictures of him and George Kottaras. Was another decent outing in Pawtucket, here is how I did:

Richmond Braves

Matt Desalvo 1/1
Jorge Julio 1/1 "How many you got papi?"
Josh Anderson 3/3 (1 for me, 2 for a 50/50)
Clint Sammons 2/2 (1 for me, 1 for a 50/50)

Pawtucket
Jed Lowrie
1/1-Mini bat (f/t), asked for "05 1st rd inscription" and turned me down....again
George Kottaras
1/1 (50/50, almost done with him)
David Pauley 4/6: 1 8x10, 3 4x6s (had him keep 2 4x6s)
Sean Danielson 1/1, 1/1
(help, 50/50)
Joe Thurston 2/2
( 1 me, 1 50/50)
Chad Spann 3/3
( 1 me, 2 50/50)-Tried to sneak in, key word is tried
Devern Hansack 2/3
( 1 me, 1 50/50)-Surprised he stopped, first time I got the guy all year

July 3rd, 2008 Syracuse Sky Chiefs vs. Pawtucket Redsox

Had my best day numbers wise today, got to Pawtucket at around 1 and Jed Lowrie was the only guy in already. Did well outside with both teams pregame and inside was alright. Didn't get to many guys inside though and Kevin Mellilo, Chip Cannon, Kevin Mench told me they'd get me after BP but never did. I was given front row seats for the game so I stuck around and saw Davis Romero charting for 'Cuse along with Mike Macdonald and Sean Stidfole sitting 4 seats over. Only had stuff for Romero and he was very nice and signed. I saw Edgar Martinez and Devern Hansack charting for Pawtucket a few rows up and I went over and asked and they smiled and said sure when some peice of work security guy darts over from nowhere and tells me to back off and leave the players alone and if I continued to disrupt them I'd be kicked out of the park. Besides that indecent it was a very good outing and set my new career high in total graphs. Here are my results

Pawtucket Redsox
Dusty Brown 8/8 ( 3, mine, 5 50/50s)
Hunter Jones 1/2: why?
Jeff Bailey 2/3 (1 50/50)
Gil Velazquez 1/1
Jon Switzer 2/2
Sean Danielson 1/1 (50/50), 1/1 (help)
Bobby Kielty 1/2 (50/50), 1/1 (help)
David Pauley 6/6 ( 3 mine, 3 50/50s)
Eric Hull 2/2
Charlie Zink 4/4: Starting pitcher, tossed a complete game 2 hitter and fanned 8

'Cuse Skychiefs
Jordan De Jong 2/2 (1 50/50)
Russ Adams 7/7 ( 3 me, 4 50/50s)
Jonah Bayliss 3/3
Curtis Thigpen 2/2 (1 50/50), 1/1 (help)
Hector Luna 4/4 (2 me, 2 50/50): Really nice sig and a nice guy for a former big leaguer
Danny Sandoval 3/3 ( 1 50/50): Very friendly
Davis Romero 3/3 (2 50/50), 2/2 (charting in stands, 1 50/50): Also very nice

July 17th 2008 Toledo Mudhens @ Pawtucket Redsox

Got to the stadium a little after 1pm and stayed till 11. Today turned out to be easily the worst outing I've ever had. I missed Mastersn coming in by 10-15 minutes. And most of Pawtucket recieved the red carpet treatment as Rick (for those of you aren't familiar with Rick he is one of the secuirty guards and he is also the kindof person who takes his job way to seriously) would escort their players from their cars onto his little golf cart right to the side lockeroom entrace doors making it impossible to get autographs. Ortiz was impossible to get and had the whole security staff members of the Pawsox up his ass. I wasn't expecting Ortiz to sign but the treatment he got was unreal. Ortiz did belt a homerun right into the Toldeo bullpen where I happended to be over by. Francis Beltran picked it up and pretended to throw it to some fans then threw it back onto the field, it was kinda funny. Toldeo was tough too, Bazardo, Beltan, Perez, Parrish, Clete Thomas, Erik Almonte among others gave me the silent treatment not only outside but inside, could not believe it. This place is just flat out horrible to try and graph and I had a rough day. 10 hours in 90-95 degree weather and the best pickup was getting my Pawsox team set which was just realsed. Looks pretty nice, anyone needs one pm me. Here are my results:

Jose Vaquedano
2/2 ( 1 50/50), 1/1
George Kottaras 1/3-routine
Chris Carter 1/2-must have missed the other one
Gil Velazquez 1/1
Joe Thurston 1/1
Charlie Zink 2/2
Brent Clevlen 1/1 very nice guy, carried his bags in for him cause the staff was to busy riding Big Papi and not doing their jobs.

July 20th 2008 Toledo Mudhens @ Pawtucket Redsox

Got there at 9 for a 1 o'clock game Wade Boggs and Jim Rice were supposed to be there to get inductedinto the IL Hall of Fame and turns out Boggs was a no show Rice was present but didn't see him coming in and good 'ole Rick was all on him after the game. Was looking to finish my Masterson stuff but he got called up this morning to Boston and was not present. Did get Michael Bowden and this guy is going to be a treat was one per, and gave a hack sig on balls, on cards he gave a lengthier sig but still not the full sig he has been giving in Portland. Really nothing big today worked on the team set and picked up the IL All Star set which I was able to also start on. Toledo once again was horrible. Got a no from Almonte pregame, postgame I was turned down by Bazardo, Perez, Almonte and Blane Neal. I was the only one who spotted Neal and called for him 2x postgame while he was carrying bags onto the bus he said he'd get me in a second well 2 hours later I'm typing this. Couldn't even ask Beltran but this is a funny story. I was hanging out for most of the game near the Toledo pen and Beltran is sitting over by a fence in the pen with this latina chick. For 4-5 innings Beltrran and her are just talking, laughing and smiling and he even sneaks her some bags of sun flower seeds through the fence and signs some balls for him. Beltran was really spitting his game, I see her walk away and Beltran is just staring at her ass as she is walking away. I told my friend I garuntee you he told her to wait by the bus after the game. Sure enough she is standing outside the lockeroom and she told the security guys she is waiting for Francis Beltran. Beltran comes out and walks right over to her they talk for a few and I believe he left with her as I didn't see him go onto the bus. I got a kick out of all this, I guess Beltran is going to show her how he pitches. Anyways here are my totals and there are 2 shockers in here:

Pawtucket Redsox

Rich Sauver 1/1
Russ Morman 1/1
Jon Switzer 1/1
Joe Thurston 1/1
Kieth Ginter 3/3
David Pauley 1/1
Eric Hull 1/1
Edgar Martinez 2/3: With how he has been this season I'll take what I can get from the big man.
Michael Bowden 1/1 SS ROMLB, crap sig got it pregame he snuck out postgame. 1st weekend in Pawtucket and he has already learned some tricks. He is going to be tough, for any of you seeing him soon get him while you can.
Hunter Jones 1/1 (50/50))
Chris Carter 1/1
Jeff Corsaletti 1/2: 8x10, he commented one of my 8x10s and I said I had one more he got really excited and said that look'd nice too, I told him he could keep it and he was really pleased about that.

Jon Van Every 1/3: After the game he is the only player who hasn't left yet and there are 10 guys by his car. Now Every made hands down the best catch I've ever seen in person, robbed a homerun honey dip style was an amazing catch even the guys in the Toledo pen went nuts. Anyways Every walks out and me, my bro and my friend are the only one of the 10 who know what he looks like, as I call him the other clowns just haging around with fricking programs and team rosters jump up and and get in front of him he goes "Holy Sh*t....f**k". He signed 1 for each and took off. I was stunned.

Toledo Mudhens

Chris Lambert 4/4
Larry Parish 2/2 (thanks to another collector there)
Virgil Vazquez 1/1
Brent Clevlen 1/1: He crushed one today , nearly left the park
Leon Durham 1/1: Ignored the few people who called him, including myself coming onto the bus he takes his seat in the front of the bus. This pretty decent looking chick with clevage galore was getting her arms signed by players for kicks and asked who that was and when she did she pointed to Leon sitting on the bus. Leon then points to himself and comes back off and signs for her and a few others before going back on.

Solid graphing day for McCoy standards just have a few left for the set. It was a very entertaining day though to say the least.

Pats Training Camp

Headed down to Gillette Stadium for the Pats open practice, it was from 2:30-4:30 got there at 1:45 and had to wait in a ridiculous line to get in. I was able to grab a good spot and was right up front, so I felt good about my chances. Randy Moss had took the day off so I was a bit disappointed, but not as disappointed about being shutout for the day. Only players to sign were Laurence Marouney, Kyle Eckel, Chad Jackson, Matt Slater, and Jabar Gaffney. Bellicheck signed for a few little kids who got underneath the rope and onto the field. Marouney and Jackson jumped around and I was close to obtaining them both but as I said they jumped around and I just missed them on a 2 occasions. I could have easily gotten Eckel as he is still probably signing still there as I'm typing this, but I mainly had premium items and wasn't going to waste it on him. Rough day and I was just unlucky.

Rochester Redwings @ Pawtucket Redsox

Did a little pregame and then postgame today for the Wings, was hoping to get most of what I had signed for the Wings tonight so I wouldn't have to comeback again for them. For the most part they were a good and I came away with what I needed as was able to get a few Pawtucket setters out of the way in the process. Was a good day of graphing and I'm pleased with the results:

Pawtucket Redsox
Michael Bowden

August 2nd 2008 Scranton/WB Yanks @ Pawtucket Redsox

I was supposed to get off work early and I intended on getting to the park to hang my stuff though the person who was supposed to cover for me ended up not only coming in late to cover but late for her shift and I had to end of covering for her. This would be my only chance for Scranton as I was unable to get off work for tommorow like I was supposed too. End up just doing postgame and stayed for an hour then took off. Though it was a very good outing considering it was just an hour. Funny story too Bobby "Da Bear" decides he wants to get Scranton coming onto the bus and tries to get around the barricade to a good spot but there are too many little kids and he of course is too big to fit around. So he attempts to go one the barriers (now for those of you who know or have seen Bobby you can imagine how funny this was), one his hump hits the barrier the whole thing colapses and he was so sure he'd fit under it too. I couldn't contain my laughter it was like watching a bear do the limbo. Anyways here are my totals for my outing once again it was a good one being just postgame for an hour.

Pawtucket Redsox

Chris Carter 3/3
George Kottaras 1/1-caught him trying to sneak out, boy was he disappointed
Hunter Jones 1/1

Wasn't a bad outing at all may be going back one last time for training camp.

Wes Welker 1/1, 0/1 (caught me dip'n)-mini helmet, didn't sign it in the best spot but he used my blue sharpie and soon after he signed for me he pulled out a black one and signed everything else in black

Charlotte Knights @ Pawtucket Pawsox

Decided i wanted to knock out some Pawtucket stuff today so I got to the stadium at 8:30 in the morning in the pouring rain like an idiot. Really was hoping to get the future Rich Garces, Bartolo Colon but he didn't show, waited till about 10:45 would have waited longer but 2 hours in the rain was enough from me. Alot of the players came in around the same time so I had to pick and choose other wise my numbers would be better. Also Rick ushered a few guys in which also didn't help but I got to see Rick nearly choke himself to death on a jimmy dean sausage. He comes out wolfing one down and starts wheezing and pounding his chest like he was King Kong it was extremely difficult to contain my laughter. Anyways nothing special today just a fairly routine outing.

Michael Bowden 2/2: Odd guy, it is pouring and he comess in wearing sunglasses. He looks pissed off as he is walking in too so I was surprsied he did 2, but hey I'll take it.

David Pauley 4/4 (2 50/50)
Jeff Corsaletti 1/1
Eric Hull 1/1 (50/50)
Sandy Madera 2/2-One of the worst sigs I've ever seen

Next Up: Tommorow Scranton Yanks @ Pawtucket (aka the Phil Hughes show), Maybe Wednesday for the SWB Yanks again

August 12th 2008 SWB Yankees @ Pawtucket Redsox

SWB Yanks @ Pawtucket Redsox

Philip Hughes is in rehab'n with Scranton and as a Yanks fan and I big fan of Phil I was excited. Surprisingly I get in at 2 pm and my bro and I are the only ones. The bus pulls in right at three most of the team came off. I missed a few guys waiting for Phil to come off and when he did I called him 2x and my bro tried to and he just walked in. Though he was the starter and I know he has his rules and rituals when he pitches and that he doesn't sign before games that he pitches. Though with just 2 people I thought there was a chance. So I missed quite a few Scranton guys but w/e. Was really considering staying after to graph postgame but I have to get up early for work tomorrow and I figure I could call it day and try my luck with Phil tomorrow. Watched a few innings and got to see one of my favorites pitch in person, got a few nice pictures and Hughes looked good. Hit 93-94 consistently on the gun with his fastball and his command with it was very good, he controlled his curveball well too he used it effectively. However he struggled throwing his change-up and 2 seamer for strikes. But one good sign was that he was able to get strikes and outs when behind in the count. Was down 3-0 to Jeff Bailey and then bounced back with 3 straight strikes for the K using his fastball, next batter was Joe Thurston went down 2-0 then was able to get 2 strikes and get a groundball to get out of the inning. Anyways wasn't to bad of a day, just did pregame outside and inside and no big names but a hilarious story with Kei Igawa. Here are the numbers:

SWB Yanks

Chase Wright 9/9 (4 mine, 4 50/50) (smudged one bad..again, took off the sig will try again tomorrow)
Kei Igawa 3/3

Okay I got Kei outside coming in with his translator but inside it was one of the funniest things I've ever witnessed. So people are hanging their binders/buckets and Kei is the last one coming in from warm-ups. A bunch of people are calling for him and he comes and signs people's buckets instead of the ball inside and it wasn't his signature he was signing stuff in Japaneese like a note or something and was writing today's date on it. Then Fingers (you Pawtucket guys know who I'm talking about) starts yelling to Kei to sign his card in his milk carton. Kei signs the milk carton and moves on to sign some guys cards but he signed a Bernie Castro card in Jap. Then takes the card out and puts it in Bobby Tiereny's binder. Then Fingers starts yelling some **** in Japanese and saying Igawa-son and Kenichiwa and Kei looks up and yells Kenichiwa back, Fingers is telling him to sign the card in the carton and Kei signs the carton takes out some of the cards who aren't of him and he places it in Bobby's binder. Mean while this guy is getting pissed off at Fingers for running around over the dugout with his milk carton and was about to throw the kid over the dugout. Fingers still yells to Kei and for a 3rd time he signs the milk carton. Fingers goes sign my card and Kei motions like he is steering a wheel and say's "I drive car". Haha it was great, Bobby takes a picture and Kei jumps up and says "Oh picture and gives a goofy smile" Fingers is running all over the place and Kei finally signed the card but then put it in someone else's binder. It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen, one of those things you have to be there for.

August 13th 2008 SWB Yankees @ Pawtucket Redsox

SWB Yanks @ Pawtucket Redsox

Well for the 3rd day in arow headed to Pawtucket and for the 3rd day in a row went home disapoointed, though that is what I expect now when I come to McCoy. Phil didn't sign coming off the bus before the game, though I was able to knock out my Ian Kennedy stuff. It was autograph night, where the Pawsox would sign on the field four an hour before the game. And I really din't bother with it, just picked out a few guys could have really killed them if I wanted to but the little bastards and creatures running around killed it for me. Saw Phil Hughes running laps on the field and waited to he was done and going to head into the lockeroom, wlaked right up to him and asked him to sign and told me"I can't sign dude, only Pawtucket is signing", meanwhile all the other Scranton guys are picking up sharpies/pens. Hughes was escorted in and after the game the Scranton buses were not parked in front of the lockerrom like always so it was extremely difficult to get anyone. Phil Hughes gave the silent treatment after the game, but w/e. Anyways was a normal day in Pawtucket for me numbers wise. Could have really bolstered it if I wanted to but was not going to bother with the tools that were running all over for autos. Anyways here are my totals:

SWB Yanks (pregame)
Ian Kennedy 3/3 (2 8x10s, 1 of them 50/50, and a card)

SWB Yanks (postgame)
Chris Britton 2/2 (only Yank that signed after the game)

Pawsox (inside for autograph session)
Chris Carter 1/2 (8x10)
Keith Ginter 2/2 ( 1 50/50)
Charlie Zink 4/4 ( 1 50/50)
George Kottaras 1/1
Michael Bowden 1/1
Devern "I like to grab other people's sack"- 1/2-why?
Jose Vaquedano 1/1
Jeff Bailey 2/2
Jeff Corsaletti 2/2

Syracuse Skychiefs vs. Pawtucket Redsox

Had high hopes for today with a top prospect, former CY Young winner and a HOF in today; left very disappointed. Met up with some other graphers. Missed Snider by 5-10 minutes coming in, and I would have been there in time if it wasn't for my brother who had me turn around 1/2 way to McCoy so he can get a hat. Then Rick rides Bartolo Colon in so he doesn't sign. Inside I had to ask Snider at least 5x each time he'd say he'd get me later, signs for 2 guys and takes off, comes back tells me he'll get me later. I leave and then those same 2 guys run up to me and tell me 5 min after i left Snider signed, I pretty much couldn't be more frustrated by this. Mike Schmidt was signing for some prostate awareness thing hoped in line got him on this crappy giveaway oversized card because they didn't allow outside items. Wasn't a very good day, though at the least I came away with a HOFer. Here are my success from what I consider to be a day of failure.

Cuse

Doug Davis 1/1

Rick Langford 1/1 (for another collector)
Ricky Romero 2/2
Hector Luna 2/2 (1 50/50)
Russ Adams 2/2 (1 for another collector)
Rick Bauer 2/2 (1 for another collector)
Danny Sandoval 2/2

Next Up: Monday Sept. 1 Lehigh Valley @ Pawtucket, last outing for me of the season

August 31st 2008 Lehigh Valley Ironpigs @ Pawtucket Redsox

Didn't really plan on going today but was bored so I headed to do a little pregame was there for about an hour and a 1/2. Got Carlos Carrasco which is all I really went for. Colon came in to workout and refused to sign coming in and leaving after his brief workout. Solid outing, here are my numbers:

Pawtucket

Devern Hansack 6/6: As I pulled in Hansack was getting dropped off at one of the side doors, when I asked he goes "You caught me man"

Lehigh Valley

Carlos Carrasco 3/3 (2 cards and an 8x10), 1/1 SP ROMLB, 1/1 SS ROMLB: After doing 2 cards and an 8x10 for me at once, dip'd him to get my ball done and he SP me after SS'n for everyone else, went again as he was 1/2 way through the door took a heavy sigh and signed SS after I asked. Easily got the sig off the ball he SP'd so all is good

Brian Mazone 1/1
Travis Blackley 2/2: very nice guy, very talkative

December 6th 2008: Pawsox Christmas Party

Just a small event the Pawsox held really meant for kids and such but former Red Sox Lou Merloni and current sox minor league Jeff Natale were in attendance so I went. Was really easy to work only took about 10 minutes to get my stuff done.

Lou Merloni 4/4 (2 8x10s, promo poster, ball for a 50/50) Merloni 8x10, Merloni 8x10

Jeff Natale 7/7 (2 cards, promo poster, 3 4x6s, ball for a 50/50)

January 17th 2009: Pawtucket Redsox Hotstove

First event of the year was the Hot Stove in Pawtucket place was packed, more than I expected. Lars Anderson the big name on the ticket left about 1/2 way through the signing when I was finally at the front of the line and waited more than 1 hour in the line too which was a couple hundred people deep. Tough luck I guess, but I got all season to hammer him out. But I can tell he will be tough. Everyone else was very good and besides not getting the guy I came for I had a nice outing. Here are my totals:

Zach Daeges: 8/8, 2/2
Mark Wagner: 6/6, 3/3-Was excited to see cards of himself
Kris Johnson: 4/4, 3/3
Daniel Bard 2/2, 1/2

Me: Daniel would you mind signing a ball
Bard: Sure no problem

Then the Iron Sheik pops up and soup nazis me.

Sheik: NO 1 PER...next

April 17th 2009: Lehigh Valley Ironpigs @ Pawtucket Redsox

Home opener in Pawtucket and it was a nice start to the season. Decent size crowd of graphers; a little more than 10 people. Just graphed outside pre-game and did well for McCoy standards. Helped that Rick wasn't around much and he just let us "dealers" (as he puts it) do our thing. Good start to the year and just hope the rest of the season goes this smoothly.

LHV Ironpigs

John Mayberry Jr 1/3? Saw him doing multiples for others, guess he didn't like the way I looked.

Good outing yet again at Pawtucket very nice quality day. Did pre-game, went inside for a bit left and came back for postgame. Carlos Carrasco didn't touch a pen/sharpie all day but no biggie as I hit him yesterday. Got turned down by John Mayberry Jr on 3 different occasion and Mike Cervanek and Andrew Carpenter also turned me down after the game but still had a productive day. Here are my totals, got some numbers and quality so that is always nice. I can't believe I got 2 out of Buchholz in one day when last year I went well over 10x just trying to get him. Hope Pawtucket continues to be  accommodating this year.

LHV Ironpigs
Jason Donald 2/2 cards, 2/2 8x10s (8x10-1, 8x10-2)
Kyle Kendrick 1/1

Pawtucket Redsox

 Bob Montgomery 1/1

Inside over by LHV dugout Buchholz starting signing for everyone with club seats down on the field and is signing away, I run over and hand my ball down to him and he is holding a black sharpie and the fun begins:

Me: Clay would you mind using my pen
(Clay nods, I hand him my pen)
Me: Clay could you sign on the SS please?
Clay: Boy you sure are bossy, (he goes ahead and signs on the SS beautiful, hands it back)
Me: Thanks Clay I appreciate it
Clay: (Very Sarcastically) Yea....I'm sure you do.

Two nice days in Pawtucket and they both have something in common, Rick staying out of the way and Bobby not being around.

Just did some pregame graphing today before the rain came. As I was pulling into the stadium Buccholz's BMW zooms by me and he parks over by the batting cages. I race in see him get to the door....a few seconds late. And Julio Lugo was in for rehab assignment and there were 4 of us outside and he had nothing in his hands and came in at 8:30 for a 12:00 game so hey looks like there is no excuse not to sign, he says "I'll see you guys later". Lugo apparently went 0-2 2ks, on 7 pitches in his first two at bats. And Pawtucket's favorite son Johnathan Van Every came back up from the DL and he came in with Billy Traber.....what a surprise. Otherwise it was a good outing, it was awesome getting Rochester because the bus driver dropped them off at the far end not in front of the lockeroom so everyone had to walk up and I was picking guys off, I wish every team made that mistake. Anyway here are the numbers:

Pawtucket
Michael Bowden 1/1
Daniel Bard 1/1
Rich Sauver 1/1

Just was looking to get Tommy Hanson and did so. Pawtucket guys were elusive after the game sneaking out by various exits and very few went out from the locker room. All in all not bad for an hour.

Did pre-game for like 2 1/2 hours this morning and I had a great outing numbers wise. Buchholz is the starter, he parked in the gated lot and walked in, Bard was really late and didn't sign. Otherwise did well. Tommy Hanson didn't sign off the bus and said he'd sign inside. I traded an unsigned Daniel Bard card for a ticket walked in and headed to the party tent area. Hanson was walking over to warm up and he came over and signed, was inside for like 10 minutes, got Hanson done and left. Good outing and set my new high for autos in an outing.

Drove straight from school to Pawtucket and missed pretty much most of the Pawtucket team by the time I got there. Stuck around for like 20-25 minutes and left but not without coming away with a few graphs. May go back tomorrow to finish up the little I have for Toledo, but it is supposed to poor so might not do that.

Michael Bowden 2/2 card, media guide cover: Only three of us waiting so I don't think he minded doing two for me.

Dontrelle Willis 1/1

Dontrelle walks off the bus and goes "Shoot me in the f**k'n face" he then proceeds to come over and sign while he is signing someone on Toledo goes. "Dontrelle is such a nice guy, if I was a chick I'd be so in love with him".

Both Willis and Bowden are starting the game tonight too so that was nice that they both stopped. Not bad for 20 minutes.

Did pregame for about 2 1/2 hours and it was easily my worst outing of the season. Hardly anyone stopped to sign today for either team, in fact not one Bison signed coming off the bus, everyone pretty much walked a b-line from the bus to the locker room. Will be heading back tomorrow morning to see if I can get my stuff for Buffalo done.

Highlight off the day was picking my my 50/50s from another grapher here is what I got from 50/50s:

Tommy Hanson signed 08 Justfiable

2x David Cooper signed 8x10s

1x Dustin Ackley signed 8x10

1x Alex White & Dustin Ackley signed 8x10

Jeff Corsaletti 2/2: Glad I got these last 2 done as he was traded to the Pirates today.

Iggy Suarez 4/4
Michael Bowden 2/2: Usually a strict 1 per but I offered him one of his 09 Goudeys and he said if I could get 1 to him later that'd be good so I guess as a thank you he did the 2 I had

Better luck today with Buffalo, was going to due pre and post game but it was raining pretty bad this morning so just did postgame and had some nice successes. Eddie Kunz was a terrible mood though as he blew the save in the bottom of the 11th and gave up 5 hits and walked the game winning run home. From what I heard from people who were at the game he was toss'n everything in sight in the dugout and after the game looked miserable. John Niese was waiting for about 10 minutes for a taxi and ignored me and a few others who were calling for him. Other than that did well and pretty much got who I came for (F-Mart):

Pawtucket

Michael Bowden 1/1
Kris Johnson 2/2

Kevin Youkilis was making his 2nd and final rehab appearance for the Pawtucket so I headed down to try and get him and finish up what I had for Buffalo pre-game. Including me there were 3 people waiting for Youk. Rick tells us that Youk plan to come in with his wife and kid so they can watch the game and come in by the owner's box so we kind of hang around down there which is away from where the players park and the team bus comes in. We see Rick zooming by on his cart and we pretty much follow him around McCoy for a good 15 minutes or so. He then heads up the street near the back gate and 5 minutes later he comes in followed by a black Toyota SUV with Youk driving. So we figure he will pull into the gated lot, but no Rick whistles at us and points for us to go near the locker room entrance. He has Youk pull in right at the door and Kevin gets out and signs for the three of us and was nice about it. Very happy about this one, made the trip worth it.

Did pregame yesterday, bus came kinda early so that was nice as I didn't have to wait around. Was there for like 2 hours so it wasn't bad. Didn't do so well with either team, and this Scranton team is brutal, missed Austin Jackson coming off the bus as I was getting my ball out from my bag and apparently he was the 1st one off so he walked right in without any one calling him over. Scranton guys are a piece of work got turned down by Cox, Miranda, Duncan and Kroneke coming off the bus otherwise still a nice quality outing.

Pawtucket

May 31st 2009:Portland Seadogs @ Connecticut Defenders

Pretty excited heading into today as it was my first time graphing outside of McCoy stadium and I got to say it was pretty nice. Just missed the bus my a minute or two when I came in but most of the Defenders weren't in yet. Outside pregame wasn't that good but inside was great. First time working the park and I got to give myself credit as I picked up pretty quickly and did fairly well. Didn't do postgame left after 3 innings but it is a really nice place to graph at, so much better than Pawtucket anyways here are my numbers.

Defenders
Brandon Crawford 13/13
: nice kid, he limited the collector before me so I asked him if he had time for more while he was signing the 1st page and did the remanding few without a problem.

Madison Bumgarner 1/1 SS ROMLB, 0/5, 1/5: Signed outside, denied me inside after he did an interview on field coming through the stands, then signed during the 1st pitch in the dugout. Nice kid, couldn't dip him because there really weren't many people around.

Tim Alderson 9/9:
while charting, didn't see him coming in and did everything he could to avoid being seen while charting (towel over his head, sunglasses, hat) but I'm too good. Got him after the 1st half of the 1st inning.

Henry Sosa 9/9
: same deal as Alderson, got him while charting
Jackson Williams 8/8

Jesse Fopert 5/
5:also while charting, very nice guy

Portland Seadogs
Lars only signed for 2 people inside and was a huge jerk about it. Didn't see Mills, Richardson, Wagner, Tazawa or Doubront which blew cause I had a bunch of stuff for them.

Aaron Bates 4/6
Bubba Bell 6/9

Chad Roades 1/1
Argenis Diaz 2/2
Jon Still 2/2: Was actually really nice about signing
Ryan Khoury 3/7: Why?

Dave Joppie 1/1

Arnie Beyeler 3/3

Jorge Jimenez 2/2
Bryce Cox 1/1
, 1/1: signed right down the 3rd base line I was stunned, he even signed two for this girl (helped that she had a rack)

Louisville Bats @ Pawtucket Redsox

Bats are in for the first and only time this year and it is a 4 game set. Looks like rain is on the way and I have a crazy schedule as it is so today was my only chance to see them. I went to the game so I graphed inside and postgame today and I was pretty please with my results, nice quality that is for sure as well as an eventful night.

So I was hanging my binder inside as was Bobby and 2 other collectors. So some time passes after BP and all of a sudden Bobby's binder drops to the ground. Than my binder a minute later drops and than another collector's binder drops we look and we see that our ropes/strings were cut. Then Homer Bailey comes out and picks up my binder and with the biggest smirk on his face goes "Hey dude I think you dropped something" So he says "Hey you want it back, can you catch" and he tosses it back up to me and I snag it but i wanted to say "Homer can you pitch?". Never have I seen or heard of a player cutting someone's rope, a McCoy first. Bobby and his mom are flipping out saying he assaulted his book and it is destruction of private property cause apparently he lost some 4x6s of Daniel Dorn or some Louisville scrub. Anyways here are my numbers for the night:

Pawtucket

Freddy Guzman 2/2
Iggy Suarez 7/7
(one kinda bubbled will get it re-done)
Carlos Maldonado 1/1
Hunter Jones 1/2: BIG LEAGUED

Marcus Mcbeth 4/4

Javy Lopez 3/3

Clay Buchholz 1/1 No Hitter 8x10, 1/1 card

Louisville
Daryl Thompson 2/2
Matt Maloney 2/2
Drew Stubbs 3/3: 2 cards & 8x10, appears to be no dupes
Homer Bailey 1/4: He pitched a great game comes out as always in leather spiked boots, cowboy hat on and he signed for maybe 3 or 4 people and someone thanked him and said great game and he goes "Ahh, I know it, felt really good to dominate", this guy's ego is ridiculous. But I'll take the one.

June 6th 2009:SABR Meeting

Got word Peter Gammons was appearing for the local SABR chapter meeting at McCoy stadium at the back BBQ tent at 10:30 am. Listened to some BS for 25 minutes then approached Gammons and he was cool, took pictures, shook hands, signed. I saw him do 1/3 on pictures for someone without the HOF insc. so I was a little tentative but I got it done, that is why I'm part of what Rocky Cherry likes to call the "Show and Go Crew".

Peter Gammons 2/2: SS ROMLB w/HOF, card
(asked for HOF, didn't do it don't know if he heard me or not cause he was talking to someone else)

June 7th 2009: Durham Bulls @ Pawtucket Redsox

Did pre and post game for a total of 2 1/2 hours. Got the better named players but Durham was rough and throughout the day got turned down by James Houser, Chris Richard, Rashard Eldrige (2x), Dale Thayer, Justin Ruggiano (2x) and Wade Davis turned me down pregame but got him after. Still have a good amount left for Durham so I'm thinking of doing them tomorrow, disappointed with my numbers but w/e these days happen.

Pawtucket
Clay Buchholz 1/1: Would have dipped but the crowd around him was too big didn't want to bother.

Michael Bowden 1/1
Javier Lopez 1/1: "Don't you run out of cards?".......Nope
Travis Denker 1/1
Ron Johnson 1/1
Russ Morman 1/1
Chip Ambres 1/1

Dusty Brown 2/2
Gil Velazquez 3/3
Angel Chavez 1/1: He has been rough with everyone but me, I'm 3/3 with him this year
Enrique Gonzalez 1/1

Fernando Cabrera 5/5
Chris George 1/4

Oh and after the game Rocky Cherry comes out and one collector asks him to sign he gives him a dirty look, says no and walks away. Then he walks over and precedes to sign for some kids, so I and 2 other collectors go over there and I'm letting the kids go and get him first. So I wait till he is done and rattled off maybe 15 kids or w/e and as soon as he sees the book he goes screams NO, and a few more kids walk up he goes "No, I'm done you ruined it" to the collector who got his book out.

Haven't got Rocky Cherry this year yet either, this guy has had it with collectors and unfortunately for me I can't pass as a kid, damn facial hair.

Durham
Winston Abreu 1/1
Xavier Hernandez 1/1
Wade Davis 3/6: Bus was about to leave without him so he could only do a few

Put in like a 2 1/2 hour day pre-game and that was it. When I arrived Bowden was already in and Buchholz didn't sign when he pulled in. Did get some stuff out of the way for Durham which was nice, but still didn't get all what I needed done. Richards and Ruggiano refused to sign for me and missed Childers and Eldrige getting other guys. Not a bad day though.

June 15th 2009: Charlotte Knights @ Pawtucket Redsox

Just did pre-game for a little bit today as I had some free time. Didn't really have much for Charlotte and they have no body on their roster worth putting in time for. Kind of a slow day but not bad for 2 hours at McCoy stadium. Oh and Tartar Teeth showed up yet again and when Travis Denker was getting bats out from his car he ran up up to him and small talked with him to try and get one of his bats. I was also trying to contain my laughter when he was talking about a picture he took with Jeff Bailey, as he said it was so hot that day his skin was peeling off. Can believe I missed alligator arms shedding his scales.

June 18th 2009:John Smoltz Rehab Start

Got word last night that Smoltz will be making one last rehab start for Pawtucket so I went over just to strictly get Smoltz got there around 2:40 for his 7:00 pm start and a 4pm he pulls into the back gate and signs for everyone there, tarter teeth was about to crap his pants when he saw him and he was almost going to ruin it by running right up to his car. Smoltz came over and signed for everybody, there was about 9 people (including 1 Pawsox employee). Couldn't be more happy about this success, even did his CY inscription when i asked.

John Smoltz 1/1 SS ROMLB w/CY insc.

June 19th: Wade Boggs @ Luxury Box Sports Bar

Got word Wade Boggs was appearing at a local sports bar at 9:00 so I headed over. Was unsure if I'd get in as I'm not 21 but I look it lol. Didn't get carded and it was just a $5 cover. Wade showed up a bit after 9 did a Q&A session and an exclusive interview with the bar to put on their website or something which took some time. Boggs was absolutely hammered, before he even took a seat to sign. He was slurr'n words and saying absurd nonsensical things. Boggs was doing a few at a time and taking pics so it took a little while. In the end got it done, took some time but easy none the less.

Also some bar employee gave out a few tickets to some people there and said that it was for a surprise. Later they announced anyone with a ticket would get a free Miller Lite from Wade Boggs, all I'm going to say is thankfully I got a ticket.

Wade Boggs 4/4: SS ROMLB w/HOF insc, Yankee Final Season Yankee Mini bat, Final Season Yankee Stadium SI cover w/HOF insc, 5X7 giveaway.

June 21st 2009: CVS Charity Classic Pro-AM

Did the Pro-AM today at a local golf tourney, and when I say local I mean local as the place  was a just a several minute walk from my house to hit Roger Staubach. He was pretty much one per and did any inscription you asked at first but as the day progressed he cut back on inscriptions, I was fortunate enough to get inscriptions on most on my stuff even tough he recognized me after my 2nd time dip'n. As the day progressed more dealers and graphers showed up for him and I had to fight off his portly pig of a security guard, who was pretty much a joke. Also this dad with his 2 kids who looked like they were reps from Jimmy Jazz were handing him Wheaties box and SB posters non stop, they were practically riding along with him in his cart. I finised up what I had by the 4th hole, was easy to work here are my results.

June 24th 2009: Portland Seadogs @ Connecticut Defenders

Had a really nice outing in Norwich today, was well equipped for both teams and just got the 2009 Portland set and knocked out most of it. Lars signed off the bus but really rushed his sig and seemed as if he couldn't be bothered. He also isn't SS anymore at least that is what he said. Tazawa signed off the bus for big Bobby and his mom but didn't do it for me which really ticked me off, he didn't sign inside either. After the bus got in made a trip to Subway for a delicious Chicken Bacon Ranch and got a mountain dew slushie from 7/11, possibly the best success of the day. Also set my new career high for graphs obtained, just shy of triple digits ahh.

I snuck into the stadium a good 20 minutes before the gates opened and went down to the Connecticut side and a few pitchers were just toss'n the ball around with each other including Bumgarner. I was the only one there and politely asked Madison to sign and he did 2 for me. He was also charting but denied me while charting saying he already got me, to his credit he did. Though he was with Darayl Maday and Daryl said to me after Madison signed for me that he'd buy that off ebay tonight. Anyways had a good day of graphing, the numbers are for pre-game outside and inside during warmups

June 28th 2009: Syracuse Skychiefs @ Pawtucket Redsox

Did pregame today and Pawtucket sucked, didn't get 1 autograph from that side but to my credit most of the team if not half the team didn't show up for when the gates opened. Syracuse team was very good about signing and I did fairly well. Michael Bowden only signed for Tarter teeth because he was waiting right outside his car door with soup or something, to bribe him with. Also just missed getting Jed Lowrie signed for 4 people then stopped. Team set for Pawtucket came out today too, which is pretty early for them, looks ok but will be a challenge to complete. Anyways here are my totals:

Collin Balester 11/11 (remaining Balesters)

Didn't really plan on doing these guys again but I had some free time in the afternoon and tried to finish up my stuff for Cuse. Ryan Langerhans was traded yesterday so of course the bulk of my stuff would be for him and I'd be unable to get it done, Scott Olsen was also called up to pitch for the Nats yesterday too so the two guys I had the most of were gone. By the time I got there everyone for Pawtucket was already in but the bus came shortly after I arrived and it made for a quick trip, got Corey Paterson as well getting out of a cab. For the time I put in I did really nicely, got everyone I needed but Seth Bynum. Here are the totals:

SWB Yankees @ Pawtucket Redsox

Decided to do postgame for SWB, was fireworks night and apprently the place was sold out and filled to capacity with bit over 10,000 people this made for a fairly chaotic postgame graphing experience. Did very nicely though, put in just a bit over an hour of work and got A-Jack, was one of 2 people who he signed for, and was able to get a pretty nice graph from him too. Jose Molina was there on assignment and signed, I had no idea he was with them so didn't get his sig but I watched someone put him on an ROMLB but got Austin Jackson on an IL ball. Anyways pretty pleased with my results.

Got ignored by Shelly Duncan, Juan Miranda, and Richie Robnett. Jose Molina would have signed for me and the remaining other collectors who were waiting to get him if some  kid didn't keep dip'n him with balls, after Jose signed about three balls for him he got mad and stopped. July 10th 2009: Trenton Thunder @ Connecticut Defenders

Trenton Thunder @ Connecticut Defenders

Made the drive to Norwich in hopes of snagging Jesus Montero and adding a few more Bumgarners to my collection but apparently Bum left in the morning for the Future's Game and early on there was word that Montero wouldn't be traveling. Trenton bus comes in and there are at least 12 or so graphers waiting and Jesus got off with only I and one other grapher calling him, he didn't stop.

Inside the park Montero threw on his catching gear and walked out from the dugout to one spot and signed for maybe 2 minutes. As he was signing he kept asking for the time, maybe about 10 people had got him out of the 40 graphers that were waiting inside the park to get him. Luckily I was one of them. They amount of graphers that I saw inside was incredible one of the Defenders's security people said that it was the most autographers he had seen at Dodd Stadium by far for a non rehab'n player. Helped another collector get Zach McAllister while he was charting.  Got Alderson while he was charting as well. Didn't stick around for postgame as I figured the crowd would be even bigger and the chances of Montero signing would be slim. Anyways it was a really nice day number wise, set my new record for graphs obtained at a game and almost got everything I had on me signed. Only one I missed that I need was Ryan Pope. Here are the totals between pre-game outside and warmups inside.

Connecticut Defenders

Henry Sosa 40/40: He hasn't started since June 30th so I told him I thought he should work his arm out and basically throw a side session with me outside. And of all people Bobby was complaing about how much I had him sign. (More Sosas)

Brandon Crawford 20/20
Tim Alderson 20/20, 1/1 SS ROMLB w/07 1st rd. pick (charting)

Brett Pill 3/3: I don't know how he didn't make the All Star team, he is hitting about .310 with 60 RBIs and has a nice glove. To hit .310 in Dodd Stadium is very impressive.

Jackson Williams 9/9

Trenton Thunder

Zach McAllister 7/8, 4/4, 2/2 (while charting, for anohter collector)

Did Indy for the only game I could this series and had a nice day numbers wise. They came in in bunches of 3 or 4 in taxis instead of a big team bus so made it very easy to pick guys out and get stuff done. Numbers are from outside only as I would have hung inside but I forgot string, another collector there told me he had string but ended as I got to the gate and met up with him turns out he didn't have string for me to hang my book down so I just left. Still did very well best day totals wise in Pawtucket for me in quite sometime if not ever. Here are the numbers:

Did only postgame tonight as I was stuck at work all day. The team isn't as brutal as advertised but their bigger name guys are elusive. Matt Laporta went 0-6 a struck out in the 9th with 2 on and 2 out representing the tying run. The first bus was full and about to pull away and Matt ran out and tightly squeezed in. Got denied by Hector Rondon, Fausto Carmona, LaPorta, Aquino, Toregas, Brantley and Hodges. Other than that did alright. Still had a decent numbers night considering the time I put in. Much better luck today with Columbus and came away with a solid haul. Did pre and post game and very pleased with the results. When I got there Tazawa was already in but he blew off the only three people that were waiting for him. Coming in for Columbus got Marte and Rondon off the bus with denials from LaPorta, Carmona and Barfield. Postgame I was one of a few people who were able to get Carmona and Micheal Brantley as they both signed for just a few people before getting on the bus, missed Wes Hodges getting Brantley though. LaPorta came out and I called him over (some people thought he was Hodges haha) and LaPorta signed one, personalized of course and I pushed a 2nd and he said he couldn't. LaPorta when down the line and signed for about 25 people and I get right near the bus door and must not have recognized me as he did it no problem, took the personalization right after he signed it with my eraser looks good. Waited around for Tazwa and he came out signed for the remaining people outside (7 people). Funny thing is he came over without anyone getting a chance to ask. All in all a good day.

July 31st 2009: Patriots Training Camp

Did the Pats camp today in the morning before work and it was packed, it usually is but today more so than normal. Tons and tons of kids running around and to make matters worse only 5 players came over to sign. Vince Wilfork, Jarvis Green, Tully Banta-Cain, Mike Wright and Le Kevin Smith. I could have easily gotten Wright or Cain but had nothing for them. I wasn't near wear Wilfork was signing so I booked it over to where he was and fought through the large crowd. Vince wouldn't long at anyone and just signed a few and moved down the line. I was able to get my 8x10 done. Tried getting Jarvis but the signing time was up and Jarvis took off as did the others.

Just did postgame tonight hoping to get A-Jack again and finish him up on some set stuff but was told he didn't sign off the bus or inside and the trend continued as he didn't sign outside after the game either. Got w/e I could done and did very well considering the large crowd. There were many Pawtucket graphing creatures out tonight and at least 30-40 kids on top of the 20 graphers, was a mad house. Only did it for just about an hour and came away with a pair of Tazawas so that was nice.

So I pulled my car over got my book out and Tazawa waved me over and did a pair. Good way to end the night.

August 5th 2009: Norfolk Tide @ Pawtucket Redsox

It was that special time of the year where all the Pawtucket graphing creatures come out of their caves and hit up the free team autograph session. It was raining so it was moved to on the field to the concourse and it was a mess. I moved around to see the guys I needed and much to my delight the Tazawa line was empty. I wish I had more on me. Didn't really bother with the lines as the a-holes had the longest lines Kris Johnson's line was the first and it really wasn't moving much. Didn't want to bother much with Hunter Jones and all the other scrubs so I pretty much hit Tazawa and then left. Was a very successful outing, all most made me feel bad reading posts of people who struggled to get Tazawa when I banged out everything I have of him in just 3 days of him being in Pawtucket.

Didn't have much but wanted to finish up what I had for Norfolk since I wouldn't see them again. Guys I were looking to knock off were Brandon Snyder, Troy Patton and Radhames Liz. Liz ignored everyone and walked onto the bus. Patton came out with Chris Waters, I called for Troy but Waters came over and Troy walked onto the bus. Got Snyder though and the remaining two Arrietas I found. I was looking to get Michael Bowden but there were a swarm of people outside his car and as soon as Michael came out Rick darted over and told everyone to scram. August 12th 2009: Akron Areos @ Connecticut Defenders

Did the Defenders game today in hopes of getting Santana and Bumgarner. Got to the stadium around 1:15 and was the only one there. Saw most of the Defenders players were in but not Bumgarner. I got him coming in within 5-10 minutes of waiting. Akron bus came in and Santana signed for just the kids which made up 3 of the 7 people waiting for graphs. Santana kept saying he had to go, then Santana snuck out for BP and avoided us, so my only hopes of getting him were inside.

Snuck inside 1/2 hr before the gates opened with another grapher and his kids, we walked right by a staff member, the place is a joke. Got in right in time as Akron was finishing up BP, went right over and got Santana before he could get back in the lockeroom. But he only did 1. Got greedy with my luck and decided to hit the BBQ tent for free food even though I didn't have the pass as soon as I grabbed a hot dog and drink some secruity woman came over and asked to see my bracelet (BBQ tent patrons had a yellow wristband) I showed her my livestrong bracelet but she was clever for a woman and didn't buy it.

Got inside and was able to get Santana signed for about a minute before taking off to warm up. Get this kid while you can though, is down to 1 per, and doesn't seem to like signing at all. Did pretty well though, was a quality over quantity type of day and I'm pleased with my results.

August 19th 2009: Rochester Redwings @ Pawtucket Redsox

These two were playing a doubleheader today both games going 9 innings. First of which started at 12, gates opened at 10. I had to work at 1 so had to do what I could in the time I was given. Rolled out of bed close to 8:30 and headed over to the stadium ASAP. Got there around 9 with no one really there yet. Missed the Rochester team off the bus getting Josh Reddick which I think is a more than fair trade off. Did very well inside with Rochester in fact all my Rochester graphs came inside, just missed 2 guys. Was hoping to get Rocco Baldeilli coming in but he was starting the 2nd game so he didn't come in this morning for the 1st one. It was bat give away day and it was crazy inside. There had to have been at least 50 bats hanging inside and it made it such a pain to get autographs. Still did well though and have an amusing story to show for it too with one Mr. Danny Valencia.

Now while hanging Danny Valencia flipped through my binder and looked at some guys board cleary seeing his cards in plain view and elected not to sign it. When I called him he then said "You think I was going to due it without you spotting me, how easy is this supposed to be". Valencia then was the last one to come back in from warm-ups. As he comes in the dugout right before they announce line-ups an old security staff member tells everyone to pull their stuff up. Valencia at the time has some other guy's board and is signing, so I figured I can wait till he is done and then get him. The security guy hounded me to pull my book up but I ignored him and pretended like I had a hard time bringing it up, he then scolded me and as Valencia grabbed my binder the old man snatch the rope in which my binder was hanging from and pulled it. Valencia looked up and said "What the hell is going on". I elbowed the old man took the rope back and Valencia grabbed my book and began to sign. The old man still hounding me to pull my book up and I told him I can't a player has it. He proceeds to say "You did that on purpose" I told him "Your right and you know what I pay for my ticket I come to many games if I'm not disturbing anyone and the player doesn't mind signing there shouldn't be a problem". Valencia then started tugging at my rope and for about a minute Valencia and I had a tug-o-war. He won and my book dropped inside the Redwings dugout and Valencia grabbed it and I saw him run away. He came back a minute later with my book and signed all 5 cards I had almost letter perfect and tossed my book back up. He threw the sharpie back up too, but hit the old security guy with it haha. I then left for work, an entertaining start to my day to say the least.

August 20th 2009: Rochester Redwings @ Pawtucket Redsox

Rocco Baldelli was in for his last day on assignment and was hoping to get him on my SI cover from last year's World Series. Showed up to Pawtucket pregame and most of the team was in, everyone but Baldelli. Within about 45 minutes of being their Rocco came in and so did the Rochester bus. Matt Tolbert had denied me but I did get the other 2 guys I needed. Had plans with my girlfriend tonight but she called me and canceled as she got called in to work the night shift at work. So it free'd me up to hit postgame. After loitering at my girlfriend's place of work for a little over an hour I drove back to Pawtucket only to get blown off by Tolbert again. Did still get a few guys. But in 2 hours total between pre and post game and pleased with my results.

Pre-game

Pawtucket

Rocco Baldelli 3/3: SI cover and 2 cards

Rocco had briefly attended the same high school as I just graduated from this past June and he spoke with me a little about the school now a one of the school's infamous teachers.

Rochester
Jason Jones 1/1: What a difference a year makes
Trevor Plouffe 2/2
Jose Morales 1/1

Postgame

Pawtucket

George Kottaras 1/1: Signed briefly from his car took in a big sigh, not of relief but of disgust as I approached him. And for a second I thought he missed this place

Chris Woodward 2/2

Mark Wagner 1/1
: A kid asked him if Bowden was still inside and he said yes he was the last one left, he then told me and another collector that he heard Michael was going up, so of course I waited a little bit.

Rick brought Michael's car up to one of the door's and threw some bags in there so I assume Michael would be heading to Boston. Rick then escorted Michael to his car door and 2 kids hovered near his car and Michael said he'd sign but Rick was on his tail. There was only 4 other people waiting besides those 2 kids including myself so if this is my last chance at Michael I thought I'd take it. He has one leg in his car and I ask Michael nicely if he could just do 1, Rick tells me to leave him alone cause he has to go but Michael got out had me come over to his car and he did it for me got in the car in left. Rick wasn't happy to say the least.

Michael Bowden 1/1

August 24th 2009 Lehigh Valley @ Pawtucket Redsox

Showed up at like 2:00 bus came a little after 2:30 and was able to get who I could, there were only 4 of us outside so it was tough to stop multiple guys, did a nice job spotting guys, one of the other collectors there thought Steven Register was Joe Savery. Michael Taylor didn't travel with the team so that was upsetting but got a few set cards done so wasn't a complete waste. As soon as the bus left I took off and I spent more time driving to the stadium and back home than I did spend time graphing.

Pawtucket
Sean Danielson 1/1
Brian Anderson 1/1

Lehigh Valley
Mike Cervanek 0/2
John Mayberry Jr 0/2
Andrew Carpenter 2/2

August 25th 2009: New Britain Rockcats @ Connecticut Defenders

Headed to Norwich today really to get a few more Bumgarners and he wouldn't disappoint. I got to the town of Norwich at around 1 and thought I'd be a little early so I went to the Subway about a mile away from the ballpark. As I pulled in I noticed Bumgarner's truck in the parking lot and I wasn't going to bother him at Subway so instead of going in and having lunch and maybe missing him at the park I went straight to the park. As soon as I got out of my car Bumgarner's truck pulled up and I was the only one there. Got Madison upon my arrival so it was a nice start to my day. Was the only one at the stadium for a while so I had no problems getting stuff done just picked guys off as they came.

Rockcats bus came and  Luke Hughes blew me off, and I missed Carlos Guiterriez and Cole DeVries getting Deolis Gurrera and Wilson Ramos, for only 3 of us there we did a nice job of stopping guys. Bumgarner was charting so of course I went inside for the game and I stayed and watch 5 innings before going home. And I had a very productive outing, and pleased with my results.

Connecticut Defenders
Madison Bumgarner 1/1 SS ROMLB, 2/2 (while charting, program & card), 1/1: As I handed him the ball he flipped to the SP and I asked him nicely to SS, he still had it to the SP, so I said well how about you sign it to me, he agreed, so he signed it on the SS but personalized it right above his name, hardly any spacing between it but had my eraser on me and took it off as soon as he went inside.

Jackson Williams 12/12
Brandon Crawford 12/12: 6 cards & 6 4x6s
Jesse English 1/1

August 28th 2009: Hudson Valley Renegades @ Lowell Spinners

Hudson Valley Renegades @ Lowell Spinners

Let me start off by saying how pissed off I am, I drove for nearly 4 hours there and back and only was at the park for 1hr 1/2. Got there right in time for the gates to open at 5:30 and it was un-cut card sheet giveaway night, I pretty much used it to shield myself and my cards from the rain. Didn't have much for either team but picked up a Lowell set and did what I could. First time doing them but it was easy enough to figure out how to graph and but because it was pouring it made it hard to graph and then keep the graphs dry. It started to get pretty bad and wasn't going to stay for postgame as I figured the rain would get worse. Decided to cut my loses and drive the 2 hours back home in some terrible downfall, not worth the drive at all. My only denial was Michael Alamanzar, and I didn't see Kyle Lobstien for HV.

Hudson Valley
Kyle Lobstien 0/4

Lowell Spinners
Ryan Westmoreland 4/4
: Awesome kid, talked with me for a bit as I'm good friends with his neighbor and I played against him in HS so it was cool talking to him for a few.

Jose Alvarez 1/1
Alex Wilson 1/1
Jeremiah Bayer 1/1
Luis Lopez 1/1
Drew Dominguez 1/1: Had some kid's black sharpie, ugh.
Willie Holmes 1/1

Christian Vazquez 2/2
Derrik Gibson 3/3
Wilfred Pichardo 3/3

Total: 19

August 31st 2009: Jim Rice @ Lowell

Jim Rice was throwing at the 1st pitch at the Lowell Spinners game today and I tried to make it down in time to catch Lowell coming in but got caught up in some traffic and arrived late for that. Didn't have too much for Lowell anyways and barely anything for Brooklyn so my only goal was Rice. I waited outside the gate and ticket office for about an hour and 1/2 and Rice had parked at one of the lots across the street from the stadium. Waited for him and I was able to get him coming into the park. I had to kiss his ass a little bout the whole HOF induction but it paid off. He wasn't very talkative but he signed and was cool about it, definitely no where near some of the horror stories I heard about him. Didn't go in for the game as I already got what I wanted and as I mentioned didn't have enough for Lowell to make the stay worth it.

Jim Rice 1/1 SS ROMLB w/HOF insc.

September 2nd 2009: Rochester Redwings @ Pawtucket Redsox

Had some time to kill tonight and I need Anthony Swarzak on some set cards so decided to swing by and get what I could. Got there just in time for the game to end stuck around for a bit over an hour and did ok. Not many graphers out there tonight. Anyways here are the totals, should be making one more outing this year.

Pawtucket
Aaron Bates 2/2
Bubba Bell 1/1
Mark Wagner 1/1
Chris Carter 1/1

Rochester
Anthony Swarzak 2/2
Matt Tolbert 1/1

Matt Macri 2/2

September 4th 2009: Syracuse Skychiefs @ Pawtucket Redsox

Well today marks my last baseball outing of the season (I'm going to try my hand at football) as I'm moving into college tomorrow. Dice-K is in to make a rehab start and was somewhat confident as I've heard he has signed house everywhere he has been since his recent trip to the DL. But those places don't have Rick. We see Dice-K coming in so me and the 10 or so other graphers starting running to the back gate and we didn't see Rick or any security so we were pleased, until, we look inside the gates and Rick and 2 other staff members are present Rick goes to open the door for Dice-K and pushes him along into the lockeroom, the smug Iron Shiek looking bastard struck again. Was a ****ty outing as Ross Detwiler and Ian Desmond refused to sign and I needed them for my EL TP set. Not the best way to end my baseball graphing season:

Pawtucket
Jed Lowrie 1/1

Jeff Bailey 1/2

Dustin Richardson 4/4

Syracuse
Sharion Martis 2/2
Seth Bynum 3/3: This guy was so elusive for me the previous series nice to finally get him

Kory Casto 3/3

Alex: Kory, it is going to be a circus tonight with Dice-K pitching they are already sold out.

Kory: Yea I know everywhere I look I see a Jap

Haha, that made my day, candidate for quote of the year.

Atlanta Falcons Hotel

Made my NFL debut yesterday I made my first attempt at graphing football and it was a success. Waited outside the hotel for about like an hour and 1/2 with my brother and roughly 12 other collectors. Bus pulled in obviously the target was going to be Matt Ryan. Turner, Gonzalez and Roddy White all didn't do it, at least off the bus. Matt Ryan walked in put down his two bags and said he'd sign one for each, but you could dip and a few people got two. He was talkative the whole time and very nice. My brother is a big BC fan and was very happy to get him, to see him I think would have been enough for him. After getting Ryan I left as I had plans with my girlfriend that night so I couldn't put in more hours but definitely a nice outing.

Matt Ryan 1/1, 1/1 (both on 8x10s, on one was his BC# the other he included his Falcons #)

Also, I saw Laurence Maroney in a local mall in front of me in line at the food court before I headed over to the hotel. Wasn't going to bother him for a graph as he was with his mother and daughter.
